The UPMC Voice Center provides nationally-renowned care, evaluation, and management of patients with voice, swallowing, and airway disorders and those who use their voices professionally.

The UPMC Voice Center uses a team approach in the treatment of voice disorders, consulting with UPMC specialists in many medical specialties including gastroenterology, internal medicine, neurology, psychiatry and psychology, and physical therapy.

Voice Center experts also provide services in the area of vocal health care and wellness to professional and amateur vocal performance groups, including the Pittsburgh Opera and performing arts centers at high schools and universities in the region. Referrals to the UPMC Voice Center can be made by physicians, speech-language pathologists, other health professionals, and self-referral.

The NYU Voice Center at NYU Langone Medical Center provides evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for a wide range of conditions that affect the sound and quality of the voice, including sore throat, vocal cord paralysis, infectious and inflammatory disorders, and vocal cord cancer.

Kristine Tanner, PhD, CCC-SLP, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Disorders at Brigham Young University. She holds adjunct faculty appointments in the Division of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at The University of Utah. 

Dr. Tanner is an ASHA certified speech-language pathologist and works clinically at The University of Utah Voice Disorders Center. Dr. Tanner's translational clinical research examines environmental effects on voice function, including laryngeal and airway surface hydration, irritants, and novel treatment development.

Dr. Amanda Gillespie

Specializations:

Amanda Gillespie, Ph.D., CCC-SLP is the Director of Clinical Research at the UPMC Voice Center in Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Gillespie is also Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Medicine. 

Dr. Gillespie specializes in the evaluation and treatment of voice and breathing problems. Her research interests are in the relationship between voice and breathing.

Dr. Gillespie is a funded research investigator and currently serves as Principal Investigator on a research grant from the National Institutes of Health in the area of voice therapy research. 

Dr. Ryan Branski

Ryan Branski, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, ASHA Fellow is an ASHA certified speech-language pathologist and the Associate Director of the NYU Voice Center in New York, N.Y..

Dr. Branski specializes in the assessment and treatment of patients with voice disorders and directs a multidisciplinary clinical enterprise.

Dr. Branski is a funded research investigator and directs a federally funded research program in the area of voice disorders.
